A groundbreaking documentary, 'Man in Motion: The Rick Hansen Story,' produced by Ryan Reynolds' Maximum Effort, is set to premiere, promising an intimate look at Rick Hansen's legendary 1984 "Man in Motion" tour. This film goes beyond the public narrative, utilizing a wealth of private audio diaries recorded by Hansen and previously unseen archival footage, some contributed by David Foster. These materials offer a raw and honest portrayal of the immense physical and emotional toll of his 26-month, 40,075-kilometer wheelchair journey.

The documentary uncovers the unfolding romance between Hansen, then 27 and paralyzed from the waist down, and his physiotherapist, Amanda Reid. Their relationship, kept away from the media spotlight, is revealed through personal cassette tapes.
