Summary

- This follows the breakdown of his 23-year marriage and other personal losses.

Following the breakdown of his 23-year marriage, Richard Hammond has reportedly purchased a six-bedroom Georgian manor house in Wales for £2 million. The property, originally listed at £2.25 million, was bought for £1.99 million without a mortgage. It boasts extensive grounds featuring a tennis court, a wine cellar, a conservatory, and a lake, along with outbuildings suitable for car storage.
This significant acquisition follows a tumultuous period for the former Top Gear presenter. In January 2025, Hammond and his ex-wife Mindy confirmed their separation after 28 years together. The divorce came shortly after the conclusion of The Grand Tour, the Amazon show he hosted with former colleagues Jeremy Clarkson and James May, and the passing of his father, Alan, who was 80.
Hammond had previously resided with his family in the Grade II-listed Bollitree Castle in Herefordshire, which they purchased in 2008. He also spent time in a rented countryside farmhouse post-divorce. Neighbors have reportedly seen him in local shops and noted his apparent contentment settling into his new Welsh surroundings.
