Richa Chadha: Postpartum Journey & Acting Comeback

Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal welcomed their daughter, Zuneyra Ida Fazal, in July 2024. Following her last on-screen appearance in 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,' Chadha focused on her recovery after a natural delivery that led to substantial blood loss, requiring her to rest and prioritize her health.

She candidly discussed the physical toll of her delivery and her debut production, 'Girls Will Be Girls.' Chadha explained her desire to remain out of the spotlight during her nesting period, particularly while managing the complexities of film release and platform deals. She noted that her brain felt "foggy" during her recovery.

Despite these challenges, Chadha has been engaged in professional activities, including completing an OTT show and conducting research for her non-fiction series, 'Musafiri.' She is now preparing to star in a new film, with production beginning soon, signaling a strong return to acting.

Chadha's series 'Musafiri,' which she created and hosted, is described as a tribute to Mumbai and an extension of her postpartum experiences. Motherhood has prompted her to reflect on global issues like AI and climate collapse, influencing her perspective on the world she will leave for her daughter.

Regarding Bollywood's portrayal of women, Chadha believes the writing needs improvement, particularly from female writers. She stated, "Women writing women is better than men writing their version of progressive women."
