Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently sparked widespread online discussion after a video emerged of him exercising in denim. The Secretary of Health and Human Services was seen performing pushups and cycling while wearing jeans, prompting immediate comparisons to the quirky character Tobias Fünke from the television show Arrested Development.
Actor David Cross, who portrayed Fünke and famously developed a 'never-nude' persona for the character, shared his thoughts on the viral moment. Cross found the choice peculiar, stating, "That's a weird thing!" He also noted that Fünke was 'deeply disturbed and deluded,' drawing a parallel to Kennedy's public actions.
This is not the first instance of Kennedy exercising in denim. In August 2025, he participated in the 'Pete and Bobby Challenge' with Pete Hegseth, demonstrating a fitness routine also while dressed in jeans. Kennedy later explained to Fox News that this practice began for convenience, allowing him to transition from hiking directly to the gym.
