Renowned Dubbing Artist Bhagyalakshmi Speaks Out After Voice Replaced in 'Thudarum'

On October 23rd, 2025, renowned dubbing artist Bhagyalakshmi spoke out about her shock and disappointment after her voice was replaced in the film 'Thudarum'. Bhagyalakshmi had originally dubbed for Shobana's character in the movie, directed by Tharun Moorthy and also starring Mohanlal. However, she was later informed that Shobana herself would redo the voice, reportedly because Shobana stated she would not attend the film's promotions unless she dubbed her own character.

Bhagyalakshmi expressed her dismay, saying, "I've never heard of any artist saying they don't want my voice. But recently, something happened that made me very sad." She explained that she had dubbed the entire film, including intense emotional scenes, but was never informed that her voice would be replaced.
