Renowned Actor Prakash Raj to Lead Kerala Film Awards 2024 Jury

The Kerala government has appointed acclaimed actor, director, and National Film Award winner Prakash Raj as the chairman of the jury for the Kerala State Film Awards 2024. A total of 128 films have been submitted for the prestigious awards, and the jury screenings are set to commence on October 6.
Raj, who has won five national awards for his work as an actor and producer, has directed four films in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. With over 31 years of experience in the film industry, he received the National Award for Best Actor in 2007 for his performance in the film Kanchivaram and the National Award for Best Producer in 2011 for the Kannada film Puttakkana Highway.
The final jury will also include directors Ranjan Pramod and Jibu Jacob, who will chair two sub-committees of the preliminary jury. The panel will also feature dubbing artist and state award winner Bhagyalakshmi, playback singer and state award winner Gayatri Asokan, sound designer and director Nithin Lukose, and screenwriter and writer Santhosh Echikkanam.
The primary jury includes national award-winning film critic M C Rajanarayanan, director V C Abhilash, film lyricist and poet Vijayarajamallika, and cinematographer Subal K R, who was selected for Berlinale Talents at the Berlin Film Festival. Film editor Rajesh K and film lyricist and writer Shamshad Hussain are also part of the primary jury.
