Daniel Levy recently shared heartfelt memories of his late "Schitt's Creek" co-star Catherine O'Hara, describing her as "irreplaceable" and a deeply loved individual. Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 31, Levy expressed comfort in seeing how universally adored O'Hara was.
Fallon praised O'Hara's comedic genius, with Levy adding that she was "unbelievably talented at improvising." The cause of O'Hara's death, reported in February, was a pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer as the underlying condition.
Levy, who cocreated "Schitt's Creek" with his father Eugene Levy, previously shared on Instagram how O'Hara was like "extended family" before playing his on-screen mother. Eugene Levy also released a statement noting their fifty-year collaboration, starting from The Second City and SCTV.
In a recent honor, O'Hara posthumously won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series at the 2026 SAG Actor Awards. This award recognized her role as Patty Leigh in Apple TV's "The Studio," one of her final performances.
