A young refugee, escaping conflict and orphaned during his journey to Europe, faces dashed hopes of reaching England while alone in Brussels. His circumstances change when he forms a friendship with Max, a 13-year-old boy from an American family residing in the same house.
This bond offers the refugee a new sense of purpose. The acclaimed young adult novel detailing his story is now being adapted for the screen by Anastasia Kousakis. Matthew Baer, known for producing 'Unbroken,' is attached as a producer. Actress Ruah is also producing through her banner Merkaba Films, following her extensive work on 'NCIS: Los Angeles.'
