The Red Lorry Film Festival, scheduled for March 13-15 in Mumbai, has announced its opening and closing films. The festival will commence with "The Testament of Ann Lee," directed by Mona Fastvold and starring Amanda Seyfried, a historical drama about the Shaker movement's founder. This film previously received acclaim at the Venice International Film Festival.
The closing film is the French political thriller "13 Days, 13 Nights," directed by Martin Bourboulon. Based on the 2021 Kabul embassy evacuation during the Taliban takeover, the film features Roschdy Zem and premiered at Cannes.
"Bayaan," directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra and starring Huma Qureshi, will be the Centrepiece Spotlight selection. Having previously screened at TIFF and Busan, a special red carpet screening with the cast is planned.
The festival will screen over 120 films globally, including dedicated sections for women directors ("Femme Lens") and a retrospective for filmmaker Pradip Krishen. A French IP Market will also connect international content with Indian and Southeast Asian producers.
