Raveena & Rasha's Compassionate Holi with Rescued Animals

Actor Raveena Tandon and her daughter Rasha Thadani ushered in the Holi festival with a unique celebration focused on animal welfare. They joined forces with the organization Animal Rahat for a 'Phoolon ki Holi' (Holi with Flowers) event at their Sangli sanctuary. This special celebration was dedicated to animals rescued from various forms of abuse and hard labor.

Instead of traditional colors, the sanctuary's residents, including bulls, donkeys, horses, and goats, were treated to a shower of edible flower petals. The festivities also included a special feast of fruits and vegetables for the animals. Animal Rahat explains that such events are crucial for the rescued animals' mental stimulation, helping them heal from trauma and regain a sense of safety.

Raveena Tandon expressed her honor in supporting the initiative, highlighting the severe cruelty these animals have endured. She emphasized the importance of surrounding them with the kindness they deserve. Rasha Thadani added that simple acts of kindness can transform an animal's life and encouraged celebrating festivals with empathy for all living beings.

Animal Rahat's work extends across multiple Indian states, offering veterinary care, emergency response, and humane education. The organization also champions the mechanization of labor previously performed by animals and operates sanctuaries for rescued creatures.
