In October 2025, a new book titled 'Don't Look Now and Then' is set to provide a comprehensive look at the making of the 1973 British psychological thriller 'Don't Look Now'. The film, directed by Nicolas Roeg and starring Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland, was a critical and commercial success that pushed the boundaries of mainstream genre filmmaking.
The book, authored by Justin John Doherty, features over 400 pages of rare behind-the-scenes photos, production documents, and new interviews with the film's creatives. Doherty partnered with Studiocanal to uncover never-before-seen content, including fresh insights from art director Giovanni Soccol and composer Pino Donaggio.
One of the book's highlights is a signed letter from the original short story's author, Daphne du Maurier, expressing her delight at seeing her work transformed on the big screen. "It is a strange feeling," she wrote to Roeg, "to sit and watch something one half-glimpsed some years ago... and then watch it transformed upon the screen."
