Rapper Ye's Amsterdam Concerts Cleared by Judge
3 Jun
Summary
- A judge ruled against banning rapper Ye's concerts in Amsterdam.
- The Central Jewish Council sued, citing Ye's antisemitic remarks.
- Concerts will proceed as planned on June 6 and June 8.

A court in Amsterdam has rejected a Jewish organization's attempt to halt rapper Ye's scheduled concerts, determining they do not endanger public order. The Central Jewish Council filed an emergency lawsuit, citing Ye's past antisemitic statements and admiration for Adolf Hitler. However, the Amsterdam District Court found no legal basis to prohibit the shows planned for June 6 and 8.
The Central Jewish Council voiced dissatisfaction with the outcome. Meanwhile, lawmakers in the Netherlands supported barring Ye from the country, but the immigration minister stated there was no legal grounds for such action. Ye's remarks have led to cancellations of shows in other locations, including the UK, Italy, and Poland.
Ye previously apologized in January, attributing his behavior to a manic episode related to his bipolar disorder. He recently performed in Istanbul for over 100,000 fans, and 70,000 tickets have been sold for the Arnhem concerts. The court's decision means Ye can proceed with his performances in the Netherlands.
