On November 9, 2025, Harlem rapper Max B was released from prison after serving 16 years for his involvement in a fatal armed robbery. The rapper, whose real name is Charley Wingate, had been sentenced to 75 years in prison in 2009 but saw his sentence reduced to 20 years in 2016 after a new legal team argued that his original trial lawyer had a conflict of interest.
