Summary
- Actor Ranveer Singh filed an apology affidavit for his 'Kantara' mimicry.
- Karnataka High Court accepted his assurance to visit Chamundi temple.
- The court will close the plea after recording his apology and commitment.

Actor Ranveer Singh's plea regarding a criminal complaint for his 'Kantara' mimicry has been accepted by the Karnataka High Court. The court acknowledged his assurance to visit the Chamundi Hill Temple in Mysore as an apology for controversial remarks made at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. Singh had referred to the Chamundi deity as a "female ghost" and mimicked a scene, which subsequently led to backlash and a criminal case.
Justice M Nagaprasanna indicated that the court would pass orders to close Singh's plea after recording his apology and commitment to visit the temple within four weeks. This comes after Singh submitted a revised affidavit with an unconditional apology and reiterated his willingness to visit the temple. The court also assured the complainant's lawyer that a strong warning would be included in the order to caution public figures against insensitive remarks on matters of faith.
