Summary
- Ramayana: Part 2 release postponed by one year to 2028.
- The film boasts a staggering budget of Rs 4,000 crore.
- Advance bookings indicate an opening weekend of Rs 100 crore.
The release of 'Ramayana: Part 2' has been postponed to 2028, a year later than its initial 2027 projection. This decision was made to allow filmmakers additional time to achieve the desired scale and grandeur for the epic's conclusion. Producer Namit Malhotra explained that the evolution of the film into two master versions, including a separate English adaptation, necessitated this adjustment.
The first part of the film, 'Ramayana: Rise of a Legend,' focuses on the early life of Lord Ram and his destiny to defeat the demon king Ravana. The sequel will delve into the pivotal storyline of Sita's abduction and Ram's subsequent quest to find her.
This cinematic adaptation, with a substantial budget of Rs 4,000 crore, is set for a worldwide IMAX release in both Hindi and English. The film has received a U certificate in India without cuts and a PG-13 rating in the US. Advance bookings have been robust, with estimates of Rs 100 crore for its opening weekend.
