Hindu Group Demands Screening of 'Ramayana: Part One'

A significant warning has been issued by the Shri Ramlila Mahasangh to the filmmakers of the forthcoming mega-budget movie, 'Ramayana: Part One'. The Mahasangh, through its president Arjun Kumar, has formally requested a special preview screening of the film before its theatrical release this Diwali. This demand stems from concerns that certain scenes might hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, both in India and internationally.

The organization recalled the substantial backlash faced by the earlier film 'Adipurush', which drew objections regarding its portrayal of Lanka and characters like Ravana. The Mahasangh believes 'Ramayana: Part One' might similarly contain objectionable content. They have stated that if the filmmakers do not comply with the screening request, they, along with other Hindu organizations, will organize protests outside cinema halls.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Ramayana: Part One' features a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana. The film's sequel is also in development, with both parts aiming for Diwali releases in consecutive years. The music for the film is being composed by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
