The recently released film 'Ramayana' has garnered attention not only for its on-screen spectacle but also for the behind-the-scenes struggles of its cast.
Actor Ajinkya Deo, who essays the role of Maharishi Vishwamitra, shared his experience with the costume and makeup. While his character, a sadhu, required less elaborate attire, Deo noted the significant weight of his wig and beard, which took one-and-a-half hours to apply.
Deo also highlighted the challenges faced by his co-stars, particularly Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama. Kapoor reportedly found his crown and entire costume to be quite heavy, leading to moments of expressed discomfort. However, the indoor shooting conditions and controlled temperature provided a crucial saving grace for the actors.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Ramayana' is a monumental two-part film adaptation of the revered Indian epic. The cast features a star-studded ensemble, with Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, among others. This cinematic endeavor is reported to have a substantial budget of Rs 4,000 crore.
