Chetan Hansraj Calls Ramayana Shoot 'Best 20 Days'

Actor Chetan Hansraj has described his experience portraying the demon Mali in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming 'Ramayana' as a career highlight. He noted that his 20-day involvement constituted the best period of his 47-year acting career, an experience he found phenomenal.

Hansraj worked with a distinguished international team, including Hollywood technicians and Academy Award winner Michael Grobe, who previously worked on 'Dune.' He also shared admiration for his co-stars, particularly Yash, who plays Ravana, calling him a 'cool guy,' and Nitesh Tiwari for his gentle direction.

Addressing the online debate surrounding the casting of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, Hansraj strongly defended the choices. He stated that the casting team, including Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari, conducted extensive research to finalize the looks and characters.

Hansraj also commented on the film's grand scale and visual effects, dismissing critics as 'keyboard VFX superstars' who fail to grasp the magnitude of the project. He assured that the final product on the big screen would be 'unfathomable.'

The actor was deeply moved when the cast and crew celebrated the completion of his part with 10 cakes, calling it one of the most beautiful experiences of his career. The trailer for 'Ramayana,' featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, was released on Thursday. 'Ramayana: Part One' is slated for a worldwide release during Diwali 2026, with its second part scheduled for 2027.
