In a surprising turn of events, director Ram Gopal Varma, known for his bold opinions and controversial remarks, has been on an appreciation spree over the past few days. After recently praising actor Chiranjeevi, Varma has now lauded Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana for their work on the first single, 'Chikiri Chikiri', from the upcoming film 'Peddi'.
Sharing the song on X, Varma expressed his admiration for Ram Charan's performance, stating that he saw the actor in his "most raw, real, and explosive form" in the song. The filmmaker also praised Buchi Babu Sana, the director of 'Peddi', for understanding that a star shines brightest when stripped of unnecessary glitter, rather than being "drowned in massive sets, overblown production design, or a speck between hundreds of dancers."
Varma's appreciation post comes just days after he publicly apologized to Chiranjeevi for his earlier comments. Sharing a post where the megastar praised 'Shiva', Varma wrote, "Thank you Chiranjeevi gaaru. Also, on this occasion, I want to sincerely apologize to you if I ever unintentionally offended you. Thank you once again for your large-heartedness."
Meanwhile, the makers of 'Peddi' are celebrating the success of the 'Chikiri Chikiri' single, which has become the fastest to cross 50 million views in just 35 hours. The film, written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, stars Ram Charan alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu, and is set for a worldwide release on March 27, 2026.
