Rakul Preet Singh is actively seeking to diversify her filmography by expressing a strong interest in exploring new genres, including horror and intense romantic dramas. The acclaimed actress, who is preparing to portray the pivotal role of Surpanakha in Nitesh Tiwari's highly anticipated two-part film 'Ramayana', shared her ambition to tackle characters and stories previously untouched in her career.

'Ramayana' is slated for a staggered release, with its first part targeting an international debut on November 6, 2026, and an Indian release around Diwali of the same year. The second installment is scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release. Producer Namit Malhotra noted the differing release strategies, explaining that international distribution aligns with a Friday release cycle, while the Indian market release is strategically planned around the festive Diwali period.
