Bedi: Acting is a journey, not a peak

Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi shared his philosophy on acting, emphasizing that his career is a journey to be savored rather than a pursuit of peak success. He stated that his focus has always been on dedicated commitment to his work, accepting varied outcomes as part of the process. Bedi revealed that director Aditya Dhar had him in mind for a role in 'Dhurandhar' as early as three to four years prior, even before the script was developed.

This early casting, he felt, was a testament to the respect earned through years of work. Bedi also elaborated on his character-building method, drawing heavily from real-life observations and infusing them with his personal nuances. He strives to add dimensions to characters that might even surpass the writer's or director's initial vision.

The actor expressed his satisfaction with the audience's strong reception to his character, Jameel Jamali, attributing it to meticulous effort. Bedi also highlighted his continuous engagement with theatre for over fifty years, citing it as a vital practice for honing his acting skills and keeping his creative instincts sharp.
