The Delhi High Court had previously found Yadav guilty in all seven matters, sentencing him to three months in jail for each. Following this verdict, Yadav and his wife challenged the High Court's order before the Supreme Court.
The legal proceedings are linked to a 2010 debt where Yadav borrowed approximately Rs. 5 crore to fund his directorial debut, 'Ata Pata Laapata'. The film's poor box office performance prevented him from repaying the loan, with interest and charges escalating the debt to nearly Rs. 9 crore.
Rajpal Yadav was most recently seen in the film 'Haiwaan', released on September 11, 2026. He is also slated to appear in 'Malamaal Weekly 2', which is currently in its pre-production phase.
