Summary
- Yadav stated he doesn't need work, contrary to perception.
- Sood clarified his support aimed to offer respect and advances.
- Yadav spent 12 days in jail over a cheque bounce case.

Actor Rajpal Yadav has publicly addressed Sonu Sood's recent offer of assistance, clarifying that he is not seeking employment. Yadav stated that the perception of him needing to ask for work is a misconception, asserting his passion for cinema and his continuous pursuit of projects.
Sonu Sood later elaborated on his initial statement, explaining that his intention was to advocate for Yadav receiving appropriate respect and financial advances, not to imply he was jobless. Sood had publicly called on the film fraternity to support Yadav during his recent legal troubles.
Yadav, known for his comedic roles, was recently granted interim bail on February 17 after spending approximately 12 days in Tihar Jail. This followed his surrender on February 5 in connection with a cheque bounce case amounting to nearly Rs 9 crore.
The legal issue stems from a 2012 directorial project, 'Ata Pata Lapata,' for which Yadav had secured a loan. The film's poor box office performance made repayment difficult, leading to the accumulated liability. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 18, 2026.
