Rajkummar Rao's 'Prahaar' Delayed Amidst Release Rush
24 Jul
Summary
- Courtroom drama 'Prahaar' release postponed from August 7, 2026.
- Delay is due to a crowded release schedule with major films.
- Film is inspired by cases handled by public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.

The theatrical release of Rajkummar Rao's courtroom drama 'Prahaar' has reportedly been postponed from its original August 7, 2026 date. Makers are reevaluating the release strategy due to a packed schedule of high-profile films around that period.
The decision to delay 'Prahaar' was made after discussions with stakeholders, who felt it was not advisable to launch the film amidst significant competition. Titles like 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', 'Batwara 1947', and 'Awarapan 2' are slated for release around the same time.
'Prahaar', directed by Avinash Arun, is said to be inspired by landmark cases prosecuted by Ujjwal Nikam, potentially revisiting legal proceedings from the 1993 Bombay bombings and the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Wamiqa Gabbi stars opposite Rao in the film.
This postponement affects Maddock Films' August releases, as Shraddha Kapoor's 'Eetha' was also slated for August and might be moved. Official confirmations for these changes are still awaited.
