A significant investment of £350,000 has resulted in the completion of a new footpath, enhancing safety for visitors to the Royal Air Force Museum Midlands at RAF Cosford. This vital pathway now provides a secure connection between the local railway station and the museum, addressing previous concerns about visitors walking along an unsafe road.
The project, funded by a grant from Active Travel England, was designed to offer a safe 15-minute walk. Work commenced in June and involved road closures and traffic restrictions on Worcester Road West and Long Lane to facilitate construction.
In addition to the footpath, street lights have been installed along the entire route, further contributing to visitor safety. The initiative, championed by local MP Mark Pritchard, ensures a much-improved and secure access for all individuals traveling to the popular museum by train.
