Rise and Shine, a German sales agent, has acquired international sales and German distribution rights for the documentary '10s Across Borders.' This film, directed by Chan Sze-Wei, offers a seven-year look into queer communities across Southeast Asia, focusing on Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
The documentary draws inspiration from New York's underground Ballroom culture. It follows three community leaders as they create empowering spaces for young people confronting issues like transphobia, homophobia, HIV-stigma, sex work, and poverty.
'10s Across the Borders' made its debut at the Busan International Film Festival and was recognized by its Asian Cinema Fund. The film also earned a nomination for best documentary at the 2025 Asia Pacific Screen Awards, where it served as the gala screening.
