The Queen Mary 2 made a special appearance in Los Angeles, cruising by its namesake, the Queen Mary, in Long Beach. The two legendary vessels exchanged a powerful horn salute early Monday morning, marking a significant reunion. The Queen Mary, now a floating hotel and event space since retiring in 1967, shares its original horn with the QM2.
This momentous occasion also highlights the 90th anniversary of the Queen Mary's 1936 maiden voyage. The Queen Mary 2, the world's only active ocean liner, is currently on an extensive 108-night global journey. This includes a unique stop on the West Coast before the QM2 departs from the Port of Los Angeles on Tuesday evening.
