Banijay Finland is expanding its scripted offerings with two new titles: 'Queen Heist' and 'The Good Widow.' The former, commissioned by Finnish public broadcaster Yle, is an eight-part, half-hour comedy series focusing on self-discovery. Created by Cristal Snow, it follows brothers Aapo and Eetu who, after losing their jobs, embark on a life of drag-fuelled escapades as amateur thieves.
'The Good Widow' is a feature film in development exploring inter-generational relationships. It presents a liberating, unconventional look at late-life love, centering on a 72-year-old widow who forms an unexpected relationship with a younger man met online. This film promises sharp humor and inter-generational chemistry.
These productions highlight Finland's distinctive storytelling. 'Queen Heist' is described as a joyful romp, while 'The Good Widow' offers a surprisingly funny comedy about choosing life and romance on one's own terms. Both projects aim to engage audiences both within Finland and internationally.
