Queen Elizabeth's Memorial: Young Monarch Statue Unveiled

A national memorial dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II is set to feature a prominent statue of the young monarch. This tribute, unveiled on what would have been her 100th birthday, will depict the Queen in her twenties, clad in the robes of the Order of the Garter. The design is inspired by a celebrated 1955 portrait.
The statue will be situated at Queen Elizabeth II Place, Marlborough Gate, overlooking The Mall. A companion statue of Prince Philip, dressed in his Naval uniform, will be placed a few paces behind, looking up at the Queen.
The memorial, designed by architect Lord Foster, will also include a new translucent unity bridge, potentially named the Queen Elizabeth Bridge, and a series of gardens. A bust of the Queen in her later years will also be part of the tribute. The entire memorial is expected to be completed by 2028.
