Summary
- Real-time lyrics with translations are now available.
- The app boasts a complete interface redesign inspired by album art.
- Qobuz offers better artist pay compared to competitors.

Qobuz has unveiled a substantial overhaul of its music player, introducing several highly anticipated features. Most notably, the app now displays real-time, line-by-line lyrics alongside translations, a function previously absent but common on competing platforms. The entire user interface has undergone a complete redesign, inspired by the visual aesthetics and colors found in album artwork. A persistent miniplayer ensures playback control remains accessible as users navigate the app, while the play queue offers more refined control options. A new 'Explore' section has been added, providing personalized recommendations for similar albums, artists, and playlists, with content also sortable by genre or record label. The credits section has also been improved, offering more accessible information and direct options to follow affiliated artists or labels. These updates are now available on both iOS and Android platforms, with the exception of Siri integration, which is also now live. Beyond its updated features, Qobuz maintains its reputation for artist-centric practices. It is known for its comparatively high per-stream payment rates, significantly exceeding those of major competitors like Spotify. For example, artists would need over 312,000 streams on Spotify to earn what Qobuz pays for just over 23,000 streams. The service also allows direct purchase of albums and songs within the app, and subscription costs range from $12 to $15 per month, with a 30-day free trial available.
