Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX, expressed optimism, noting the strong performance of films like 'Dhurandhar The Revenge', which achieved over ₹100 crores in a single day. He also highlighted the success of independent films distributed by PVR INOX Pictures, such as 'The Drama' and 'Michael'.
Bijli frequently attends film festivals like Berlin and Cannes to acquire international independent films, a practice his company has pursued for two decades. PVR INOX Pictures aims to bring diverse cinematic content, including anime and European language films, to the Indian market, recognizing the global shift towards language-agnostic appreciation of good cinema.
The Indian market's growing significance is evident in the success of Hollywood films like 'Oppenheimer' and 'Barbie', which crossed the ₹100 crore mark in India. Bijli suggests that this burgeoning market now justifies Hollywood actors visiting India for film promotions.
