Pune Poetry Event Redefines Open Mic

In Pune, an innovative art retreat named 'Beyond Open Mic' recently transformed the concept of open mic events into a comprehensive, full-day experience. Organized by Kissagoi and Baithak and Beyond, the initiative focused on cultivating a robust creative community rather than just hosting fleeting performances.

The retreat began with introductory sessions and discussions on open mic culture, followed by intensive workshops. These sessions, led by Tushar Padolkar for performance and Saad Ahmed Shaikh for writing, provided participants with nearly three hours to hone their skills. The core aim was to encourage deeper engagement with the art of writing and performing.

As the day progressed, the atmosphere shifted towards more dynamic activities. A shared lunch preceded guest performances and a slam poetry competition.
