In a highly anticipated move, the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof is set to make its first-ever Broadway revival in 2026. Directed by Hamilton's Thomas Kail, the strictly limited 16-week engagement will begin performances at the Booth Theatre on March 31, 2026, ahead of an official opening night on April 16.
Casting for the revival is now complete, with PEOPLE exclusively revealing that Emmy winner Samira Wiley and Grammy nominee Jin Ha will join previously announced leads Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle. For Wiley, this marks her long-awaited Broadway debut, while Ha reunites with director Kail after appearing in Hamilton's Broadway and Chicago companies.
Proof, a play about family, genius, and the blurred lines between brilliance and instability, was an immediate hit when it first premiered Off-Broadway in 2000 and later transferred to Broadway, running until 2003. The original production earned three Tony Awards, including Best Play, and the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
