Filmmaker Priyadarshan has confirmed a reunion with acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi for a new, full-fledged comedy film. This marks their first collaboration in over fifteen years, with their last project being Aakosh in 2010, where Tripathi played a more serious role.
Priyadarshan expressed his enthusiasm for working with Tripathi again, stating the actor will portray a completely different, lovable comic character. The director aims for the film to be a broad, situational comedy, similar to his earlier successful films like Hungama and Hera Pheri, with Tripathi in a pivotal role. The script is currently being finalized.
The director plans to begin shooting the comedy by summer 2026, after completing two other scheduled releases: Bhooth Bangla and Haiwaan. Priyadarshan, known for his prolific output, shared his eagerness to return to comedy filmmaking after recently directing an action movie and a psychological thriller.
