Actress Recalls Disturbing On-Set Harassment

Actress Priya Bapat has revealed a deeply uncomfortable incident from the early stages of her acting career. During the shoot of one of her first films, a co-star allegedly continued to kiss her beyond what was agreed upon, causing distress. Bapat expressed her initial hesitation about a kissing scene, questioning its relevance.

Further compounding her discomfort, the actor reportedly sent her persistent messages and invitations outside of work hours, despite her clear disinterest. Shooting in Bhopal at the time, Bapat confided in her husband, actor Umesh Kamat, nightly.

Kamat flew from Mumbai to Bhopal to support her on set for three days. His presence helped the co-star understand professional boundaries and back off. Bapat stated this remains the singular negative experience in her entire acting career, highlighting the importance of safe working environments.
