Audio recordings of Princess Diana, made in 1991, will be publicly heard for the first time in a forthcoming docuseries. Titled 'Diana: The Unheard Truth,' this series aims to present a more complex picture of the Princess, moving beyond the portrayal of her as solely a victim of circumstance.
The tapes feature Diana's private conversations with her friend James Colthurst, offering her perspectives on then-husband Charles, his wife Camilla, and Prince Andrew. These recordings were foundational to Andrew Morton's influential book.
This three-part documentary, currently being shopped internationally, also incorporates exclusive interviews. Featured voices include prep schoolmate Delissa Needham, personal hairdresser Sam McKnight, astrologer Penny Thornton, and journalist Richard Kay, all offering unique insights.
Produced by Love Monday and 53 Degrees Global, the project is financed by Rainmaker Films and Plymouth Films. The creative team behind the series includes series editor Sophie Todd and producer Emily Hirst.
