Diana's Life Unveiled: 700 Artifacts in D.C.

A vast collection of over 700 artifacts detailing Princess Diana's life is set to be exhibited at the Ronald Reagan Library in Washington, D.C., from November 7, 2026, to May 2027. The exhibition, titled "Princess Diana: Love Life Legacy -- A Life of Giving," is a collaboration between the Princess Diana Museum and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute.

Central to the display is the Victor Edelstein-designed dress Princess Diana wore while dancing with John Travolta at the White House in 1985. This iconic gown, on loan from Historic Royal Palaces, will be displayed alongside Nancy Reagan's dress from the same event, creating a striking visual connection between two influential women.

The exhibition will also feature a variety of personal items, including handwritten letters, childhood treasures, and numerous dresses, one of which is Diana's "caring dress," purchased by Renae Plant for $520,000 in 2025. Plant, who has accumulated these pieces over years, expressed her dream of making them publicly accessible.

Melissa Giller of the RRPFI highlighted the exhibition's aim to showcase the enduring transatlantic bond between the U.S. and the U.K., emphasizing Diana's humanitarian work and cultural impact. The display includes rare pieces from Diana's early life, such as ski pants and Laura Ashley dresses, offering an intimate glimpse into her journey before fame.
