Princess Anne mistook rugby star for celebrity traitor

Princess Anne recently met England rugby prop Joe Heyes, but mistakenly identified him as former player Joe Marler. The royal commented on Marler's television appearances, referencing his role in 'The Celebrity Traitors' last year. Heyes, who was preparing for the Calcutta Cup match, found the situation amusing and admitted to being somewhat starstruck.

Despite the mix-up, Heyes acknowledged the resemblance between himself and Marler, noting their similar builds and beards. While Marler had a long career with the England squad, Heyes is a more recent addition, having debuted in 2021. Marler, who retired from rugby 15 months ago, was a contestant on the first season of 'The Celebrity Traitors,' reaching the final.

Marler's 'Celebrity Traitors' journey ended when fellow contestant Nick Mohammed became suspicious and had him banished. Reflecting on the experience, Marler humorously expressed a desire to confront Mohammed about his perceived betrayal.
