Since Prince's passing in April 2016, his estate has diligently released nearly 200 unreleased sound recordings. This includes expanded album reissues, outtake collections, and previously unreleased full albums, ensuring Prince's music continues to reach his audience.
Future plans include more music releases later this year and into next, alongside a Prince musical set to debut on Broadway. The estate is strategically releasing material, aiming to make Prince's extensive catalog accessible and engaging for younger generations.
Discussions are also underway for a jukebox musical utilizing Prince's songs and potentially a biopic. The estate emphasizes preserving Prince's legacy through his music, drawing parallels with the successful management of the Michael Jackson estate.
