The Prince estate has unveiled 'Timeless,' a 10-song collection of rare and unreleased music drawn from the artist's extensive vault. This release commemorates the 10th anniversary of his death and spans his entire musical journey.
The collection includes recordings made when Prince was a Minneapolis teenager in 1977, through to tracks from 2016. It represents the first time a Prince release has covered every major era of his career.
'Timeless' features tracks like the 1977 funk jam 'I Am You,' recorded when Prince was 19, and the punky 'Tick Tick Bang' from 1981. Other highlights include 'Heaven' with backing vocals from Susannah Melvoin and the piano ballad 'With This Tear' (1991), which was originally given to Celine Dion.
The set concludes with a live rendition of 'How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?', recorded in Oakland in March 2015, shortly before his passing. The collection was mixed and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Chris James.
