Despite the cancellation, Ackles remains optimistic, stating that he's "thankful for the experience" and that he'll "see you down the road on something else." The actor is set to return to his role on CBS' Tracker in the upcoming third season and will also reprise his role as Soldier Boy in the forthcoming The Boys prequel, Vought Rising.
Countdown, which starred Ackles as an LAPD detective, was one of two series canceled by Prime Video on Friday, along with the Danel Dae Kim series Butterfly. The supporting cast of Countdown included Jessica Camacho, Eric Dane, Jonathan Togo, Uli Latukefu, Violett Beane, and Elliot Knight.
