Primal's Spear Returns From Death in Season 3

The critically acclaimed animated series Primal is set to debut its third season with a shocking resurrection of its main character, Spear. Following Spear's ultimate sacrifice in season two, the new season opens with him reborn in a new form, stripped of his memories and humanity. He is forced to roam a savage and untamed world as a mere shadow of his former self, battling perilous landscapes and formidable foes.

As Spear struggles for survival, faint whispers of his past life begin to stir within him. These echoes guide him toward an emotional and explosive reunion, pushing the boundaries of what it means to survive. Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator, expressed his initial desire to move on, but an idea for a more "pulpier, bad-ass, and undeniable" season three emerged, garnering unanimous agreement.

Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen highlighted the daring narrative choice of bringing back a main character after his demise, emphasizing that Tartakovsky's approach results in a season that is "more bonkers than the decision to kill Spear off." The season premiere is slated for Sunday, January 11th, at 11:30 PM, with subsequent episodes available the following day on HBO Max.
