Cardiff Gears Up for Massive Pride Cymru 2026

The annual Pride Cymru festival is set to take place in Cardiff this weekend, with thousands of people expected to attend.

The celebration of the LGBTQ+ community will feature its traditional parade on Saturday, starting at 11:00 BST from Westgate Street and winding through the city centre. Following the parade, singer Kate Nash will perform at Cardiff Castle, which will host the main festival. This event, now in its 27th year, has grown considerably since it began as Cardiff Mardi Gras in 1999.

Festivities commenced on Friday with a performance by Mika at DEPOT Live. The main festival at Cardiff Castle on Saturday will feature multiple stages with various performers, including Louise, Ultrabeat, 911, Caity Baser, and stars from RuPaul's Drag Race UK. Sunday's lineup includes Bright Light Bright Light and Marmalade. Organisers have highlighted the Cabaret Stage and Community Stage for showcasing local LGBTQ+ talent and diverse Welsh performers.

Road closures will be implemented across Cardiff city centre on Saturday, affecting routes such as Castle Street, Duke Street, and Kingsway, among others. These closures are scheduled to manage the large influx of attendees for the parade and festival, which concludes on Sunday.
