Summary

- The documentary alleged sexual harassment during Bob Barker's era.
- Dobkowitz defended the show's past positive working environment.

Roger Dobkowitz, a producer for "The Price is Right" for 36 seasons, has publicly criticized a recent documentary series that detailed allegations of sexual harassment during Bob Barker's time as host. Dobkowitz, who worked on the show from 1972 to 2008, labeled the E! network's "Dirty Rotten Scandals" segment on the game show as a "hit piece."
The documentary, which aired on March 18, featured accusations from former models claiming a culture of harassment. Dobkowitz argued that the documentary unfairly targets Barker, who passed away in 2023, preventing him from defending himself. He stated that attacking a deceased person is not brave.
Dobkowitz, now 80, defended the show's atmosphere, calling it a "happy place" where staff and models enjoyed working. He suggested that unhappiness among some individuals stemmed from unfulfilled career aspirations or job terminations. The show's former representative, Roger Neal, also denied the allegations, calling Barker a beloved figure and TV icon.
Past legal issues involving Barker and former models, including Holly Hallstrom and Dian Parkinson, were also highlighted. Dobkowitz suggested that those who continue to dwell on such disputes decades later may have issues with mature reasoning. He indicated he would share his full observations in a future book.
