Actor Prakash Raj has confirmed his involvement in SS Rajamouli's highly anticipated film, Varanasi. He shared that he is portraying a devoted follower of Lord Shiva and has already completed two shooting schedules for the grand production.
Initial reports suggested Rajat Kapoor was cast, but he reportedly exited due to creative differences, leading to Prakash Raj's inclusion. The film, described as a large-scale mythological action drama, also features Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Director SS Rajamouli recently indicated that approximately half of the filming is finished. The team is working towards completing production before August of this year. Varanasi is currently slated for a theatrical debut on April 7, 2027.
