Prakambanam, a horror comedy, unfolds within a college hostel, centering on three final-year students: Sidharth, Punyalan, and Shankaran. Sidharth carries a portion of his cremated grandmother's ashes, intending to scatter them later.
An accident occurs when Punyalan inhales the ashes stored in sneezing powder. This triggers intermittent possession by Sidharth's grandmother, occurring whenever Punyalan sneezes.
The film features strong performances from the lead trio, particularly Sagar Surya's portrayal of possession. Its charming college-comedy atmosphere is enhanced by a realistic hostel setting, though the background score has mixed results.
Directed by Vijesh Panathur, Prakambanam is recognized as a spiritual successor to Adi Kapyare Kootamani. The movie is currently available for streaming on Zee5.
