The enduring appeal of "Practical Magic" is significantly tied to its distinctive soundtrack, which was assembled under challenging circumstances. Initially, the film's score was deemed too dark and required a complete overhaul with only two and a half weeks before release. Composer Alan Silvestri, working under intense pressure, created the enchanting score in a remarkable 12 days.

Music supervisor Carlton Kaller played a crucial role, seeking to imbue the film with a wistful and magical quality.
