Prabhas' Raja Saab: Festive Release Amidst High Ticket Debate

The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, is scheduled for release on January 9, aiming to capitalize on the Sankranti festival window. The Telugu horror-comedy is anticipated to draw substantial audiences, especially given Prabhas' considerable fan base. The film's opening day collection is projected to be robust, with trade expectations pointing towards a potential Rs 76 crore net in India.

The festive release, however, intensifies the box office competition as The Raja Saab will directly clash with Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan. Pre-release interest, as tracked by BookMyShow, shows Jana Nayagan currently leading the buzz. Advance booking for The Raja Saab's Hindi version indicates a more muted reception in North Indian markets compared to its South Indian counterparts.

Adding to the pre-release discussion, proposed premium ticket prices for The Raja Saab in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, reaching up to Rs 1,180 in multiplexes, have become a talking point. The film, which has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the CBFC with minor trims to gory scenes, boasts a runtime exceeding three hours. In overseas markets, Jana Nayagan currently leads in advance bookings.
