19 Sep
Summary
- A planned crossover featured the Joker menacing Townsville.
- The Mayor initially welcomed the Joker to boost Townsville's fame.
- Warner Brothers ultimately rejected the proposed animated crossover.
Plans for a thrilling crossover episode featuring 'The Powerpuff Girls' and the Joker from 'Batman: The Animated Series' were developed but never came to fruition. The proposed storyline would have seen the infamous Clown Prince of Crime arriving in Townsville to commit crimes. The Mayor, surprisingly, saw this as an opportunity to gain notoriety for the city and initially attempted to hinder the Powerpuff Girls' efforts to stop him.
Character designs from 'Batman: The Animated Series' were intended for the episode, with hopes that Mark Hamill would return as the Joker's voice. Despite the creative team's enthusiasm, Warner Brothers ultimately blocked the project. This decision meant the Joker's animated adventures would continue in 'Justice League' episodes instead of crossing paths with Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.
