Warner Bros. Animation is developing a new animated movie based on the beloved "Powerpuff Girls" series. The studio announced the project at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. This news comes as a welcome development for fans of the crime-fighting trio.
The original "Powerpuff Girls" series first premiered in 1998, captivating audiences for six seasons before concluding in 2005. The concept of the show centers on three young girls, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, who were accidentally created with superpowers by Professor Utonium.
This upcoming film is not the first movie adaptation. In 2002, Warner Bros. released "The Powerpuff Girls Movie," which unfortunately did not meet financial expectations. The franchise also saw a reboot series in 2016 and an unaired live-action adaptation.
